Do Not Give Up Hope
HAVE WE ACHIEVED FULL CHAOS IN JACKSON, WY YET? Feedback from my campaign so far:
- I have had difficulty getting a building permit without lengthy back and forth transactional conversations and waiting interminably.
- My drinking water is tainted, with no assurance of a full, permanent fix.
- I cannot find parking near my workplace and other destinations.
- I am living in housing that rivals my worst dorm experience in college.
- The people around me, in general, are out of sorts, lacking hope.
- I am chronically thinking about how I will pay for things, especially my looming tax bills.
- I am worried about how to pay for health care, opting to avoid seeking it because of costs.
- I feel invisible, like no one cares about me and my opinions as a citizen.
- I am afraid to be on Snow King as a pedestrian or a driver at certain times of the day due to throngs of commuters.
- I am unable to get leaders to enforce building codes, watching as my property rights are ignored, and I am disregarded and disrespected.
- I feel depressingly held hostage to my employer because my housing is tied to my employment.
ARE THINGS ANY BETTER FOR YOU HERE FROM FIVE YEARS AGO? NO ONE HAS SAID YES!
Vote for new leadership. This is your chance. This is not campaign talk. There are answers. We simply have to change out leadership. Many of our elected officials are either tired, distracted by their own re-election campaigns, or simply unqualified to serve. We need to let them go.
I believe that city and county workers are good people and they are trying to do a good job. But they cannot perform well without their managers and leaders setting and managing to clear performance goals and expectations that support top quality public service. They also cannot be expected to be service oriented if their own management chain does not demonstrate those qualities themselves. Leadership by Example. Much of our local government service culture is on life support.
As your next representative to the Wyoming House, I will have state-oriented horizons on the issues I address. But they will be based on your perceptions of life today in Teton County. I will play a deep advocacy role for you, listening to and addressing your perspectives, expectations, and needs as citizens. I can and will reach out, working directly in your interests, to leaders who may have let you down – real people who have the authority to help and have fallenl short of it.
Please hire me. Vote Shannon Brennan – Representative to WY House District 23.
